Just a quick post.

Today one of my friends was talking about how while she enjoyed learning about history, she found real fault with the Australian curriculum and the way it's taught here (and probably the world over, anyway) because the way it's taught is not "this is what happened, and we should have done x or we should do y so it never happens again" instead we are taught "we did this.... yes, it was bad.... but it was inevitable." 

And it got me thinking and I have to agree because it almost seems like history is being taught this way as justification of actions, rather than educating the next generation on how to improve the world.
